Just back from Mexico !! What a great time, so much wonderfull food and some many great people. Mexico City, Puebla and Chihuahua were amazing places to play. Yoso was so well recieved it's as if the band has been together for decades.... no record out, no label and still really under the radar and we still had 2k per night for shows 2 and 3 {the 1st show was a corperate gig for Mexico's Microsoft bigwigs. Here's to the future and more gigs which are being discussed and sorted out for 2010... Yoso is wheels up and I can't wait to see all my friends here at KOTF in person at one of the shows !!!
"We have liftoff, we have liftoff. YOSO landed in Mexico by way of the moon, eluding media radar until 4-6 thousand people received music vaccinations to protect them from all negative vibes. Authorities declined to comment on how so many Mexicans turned out to see an American band with virtually no publicity. Authorities refused to either confirm or deny the gathering could represent a manifestation of morphic resonance or spontaneous convergence".
YOSO ! (chanting heard in the streets...and some guy threatening to file a lawsuit (me) that a word he coined many moons ago has been co-opted by long haired, music loving, hippie-thpes).
DAMN ! I think it fair to characterize this entire happening as extraordinary. A bunch of guys with a few hundred fans on this web site, change the name of their band, zoom down to Mexico to play 3 gigs. Oh, Cinnamon bears no responsibility for disgruntled fans who could not make the gigs with notice 'after the fact'.
Me thinks this Cinnamon will become very busy very soon ! Congrats to YOSO. Dig it!
Ay Ay Ay Ay canta y no llores....porque cantando se alegran cielito lindo los coooooooorazoooones
ayyy ayy ayyy ayyyy canta y no lloooress
Maestro William, welcome back manitooo! mexican food is too hot,I remember a very bad experience in San Antonio TX. chewing a chili...it wasn't a cucumber..!! mamma mia
post some Pics from Mexico Billy
regards To Michi and little Sherwood, and congratulations for the tour.
Dear Billy,
It does the heart good to hear that Mexico went well for you and the boys. No doubt, anyone who had that incredible opportunity to be at these shows will forever be YOSO fans! Here in the tiny mountains of West Virginia, I continue to listen to Headsets II, Speed of Life and Circa (one and two-love Jay's work !), without a doubt, some of the most fantastic pieces of work in decades, thank you Billy for all that you do to make this happen ! And fingers crossed, like most of us in America, that we will have the fortunate opportunity to see YOSO live near our homes in 2010. I would travel many, many miles to see this line-up, that I promise ! With much love and metta (loving friendliness) Kathy
I have only one word for this: GREAAAAAAAAT !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It is not incredible that the Mexico tour was a success, because we, all your fans, know the creativity and awsome work you have done in all your previous releases !! specially now when all these new material and gigs are also supported and integrated with the skills of the rest of the Circa guys and Boby Kimball.
I can only add another thing: I AM PROUD !!!!!!!!!!...proud of being a Billy Sherwood fan, Proud to be a Tony Kaye fan, proud to be a Jimmy Haun fan, proud to be a Boby Kimball fan (I really love TOTO, I have all their albums) and have great expectations with the collaboration of Lou Molino.
Go dudes carry on this prog rock legacy !!!!! and be always aware that, we: THE KEEPERS OF THE FLAME will be always supporting you guys in all the possible forms.
Buen trabajo amigos !!!!...Ustedes son lo máximo !!!!!!!!!!!!
Bienvenido en tu primer paso hacia el lado sur del cielo.
(Hey William.
welcome on your first step to the south side of the sky) and I mean by that , that maybe someday you guys will come down to south america. (Mexico is waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay up to the north , way too far from us)
ARGENTINA, CHILE, BRAZIL, ECUADOR. that´s what I have in mind for you guys.
If THE STONES, U2, RUSH, DEEP PURPLE, PETER GABRIEL, ROGER HODGSON, ASIA .... amongst other great and very respectul bands have come down here to the south side of the sky within the past couple ofyears..... I think it is time for you to do so
You guys will be very welcomed here, and by here I mean ECUADOR right in the middle of the world. (how
about a journey to the center of the earth tour?) I mean you can tour the before mentioned countries and end up here IN THE CENTER/MIDDLE of the earth THE EQUATORIAL LINE is mere few miles from Quito Ecuador.
In any case
It´s great to know you started touring.
P.S.
Any clue on the meaning of YOSO?
just few nights ago, we were riding on Francisco´s car and we came up with an idea.
"it is the union of the words YES and TOTO using Yes´ consonants and Toto´s vocals...
hence Y - O - S - O " ... Are we near?
